This program qualifies for 12 CPE credits (Government Specialized Knowledge) and is a required workshop for the GFI Foundations Certificate. 

 

This two-day workshop will provide a general introduction to governmental accounting concepts and the various types of financial reporting produced in the public sector. This workshop will cover:

  • Basic concepts of governmental fund accounting;
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as they apply to governments;
  • Non-GAAP financial reporting models including Other Comprehensive Basis of Accounting (OCBOA) methods
  • The components of governmental financial statements including the government-wide financial statements, fund financial statements and notes to the financial statements.
  • The different types of external financial reporting including the statutorily required Annual Update Document (AUD) and the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR).

REGISTRATION POLICY:
Payment should be made in advance or brought with you to the seminar. Pre-registration is preferred. On-site registrations are accepted; however, there will be an additional fee of $10.00. 

 

CANCELLATION POLICY: 

  • Cancellation notices must be made in writing and emailed to info@nygfoa.org.

  • Cancellations made up to one week prior to the event will be refunded the registration fee, less an administrative charge of $15.00.

  • No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than one week before the event; the registrant is liable for the full amount of registration.

  • No Shows are liable for all registration fees.
