This session will familiarize you with the entire audit process: from its early stages to final report. Learn what the auditors are looking for, the professional standards they follow, and your role in the process. We'll also discuss some common findings and best practice recommendations, in an effort to help you avoid similar circumstances and take corrective action before an audit.

Payroll processing is a core function in the finance office.  This session will focus on the basics of payroll processing and how to avoid pitfalls when preparing and executing payroll.  Best practices will also be shared.

2:10 - 3:00 pm  | Governmental Accounting Software Roundtable - Challenges and Best Practices

This entirely interactive session features discussions on a topic close to most (if not all) finance officers - governmental accounting software.  Small groups will discuss the types of software utilized in their entity, the pros and cons of the systems used, and a sharing of best practices when choosing, implementing, and upgrading accounting software systems.  Facilitators from the small groups will share what was discussed with everyone.
